The McLane PTSO partners with a local theater company to provide education and a performance opportunity for young actors. We have a full production experience for all grades and a tech team for grades 3-5.

5. Volunteers. Great news, we have over 40 kiddos signed up. Reality—we adults to help make sure things run smoothly. Please review the Sign-Up Genius link below. If you have time or/and talent—please sign up! We really need it especially with this many students! Our Theater Co-Leads Jo and Nadine both have daytime work obligations that will prevent us from being at the school every day. If we cannot identify 2 parent volunteers to chaperone on a particular day, we will be required to cancel rehearsal and send kids home via their normal plan. Let’s work together to fill the slots! Once again, If you would like to help volunteer to support only the Tech Team, please email Jo at treasurer@mclaneptso.org and Kristen S. at Volunteers@mclaneptso.org. We are looking for at least 1-2 Adult Tech Team Lead to join our team.

6. Attendance. 100% attendance at rehearsal is REALLY important. Putting on a production like this takes a lot of hard work and practice time from the Students (especially Grades 3-5). We are planning on having K-2 rehearsals every Wednesday after school for one hour. This does conflict with Swimming and Art so if you would like to work out a plan to participate, please contact Jo at Treasurer@mclanepsto.org and we will see what we can do on a family-by-family basis. If your child is absent from school, please email or text Johannah (202-738-0459) or treasurer@mclaneptso.org so we can notate this on our Roster. School attendance records cannot be shared with our PTSO. There is nothing worse than not knowing where a kid is when they should be in Theater. If we do not see your kiddo in our Rehearsal, volunteers will call you to inquire.
7. The Show. Talk to your kids about this show. If you want, encourage them to watch this video to get a sense of the show.
